The Reserve’s staff is committed to protecting and stewarding our 3,280 acres of natural resources and cultural heritage. Annual work plans are designed to safeguard the Reserve from wildfire, invasion by non-native species, and erosion. BORR also grows native plants and manages for biodiversity by utilizing the tools of mowing, grazing, and fire.

Since 2019, BORR has hired summer land stewards to help manage invasive vegetation, collect seeds, fix fences, monitor oak seedlings, and assist with other projects. Assistant Stewards are provided a screened cabin and live on-site from April to August. Contact us to learn more about this opportunity!
