Public Service Activity at Blue Oak Ranch

The Blue Oak Ranch Reserve continues to offer a range of activities and outreach for the public. From a major “Technology as  Art”  installlation at the San Jose Mineta International Airport entitled “The Wired Wilderness” to the award winning K-12 program “Adventure Risk Challenge” Blue Oak Ranch has opened its doors to meet the UC committment to Public Service. Over the years, dozens of citizen scientists have lent their skills in outdoor and nature photography to draw attention to the myriad of biological diversity that can be observed and studied. Tours and lectures have been made available to organizations including the California Native Plant Society, The Audubon Society, Youth Science Institute (YSI), Alum Rock Park Trail Volunteers, Docents of the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, and the Silicon Valley Linux Club, and many others.

Enjoy the following gallery of imagery of nature and field station activities that have been generously donated to Blue Oak Ranch by our volunteers and public visitors.
